Every morning when I feed the chickens, I have 2 special little friends who fly up to get their special breakfast. Beauty is a Blue-Wheaten old english game hen, and she only stands about 4 or 5 inches tall from toes to comb. Because she is so small, I make sure that she gets her own spot to eat where she wont get bullied. She flies up on the enclosure and I pet her, then give her a scoop of feed. My other sweet little friend is Lolly, a Brown Leghorn. All leghorns are known to be very flighty, and I am here to tell you that this is ab-so-lute-ly TRUE! We have another leghorn named, very originally, Leghorn. If you try to pick her up, or even touch her, RUN! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!! Lolly is like that, except in the mornings. When I bend over to fill the feeder, I see Lolly looking at me, and then I feel claws on my shoulder or back. Then I let her eat out of my hand, and she allows me to gently stroke her back. Recently, my Silver Sebright pair have realized that: 'Hey! If we fly up here, we can eat compitition free! All we have to do, is chase little Beauty off!' And that is exactly what they do. On top of that, Lolly will chase off little Beauty, so now I have to put 4 or 5 little piles of feed on top to make sure that everyone gets fed. Now that I fed the chickens, time to milk the goats!
