Tessa's 2019 Kidding schedule
Doe Buck Due Price Comments Reservations
Reserving a kid
A $100 dollar deposit is required to hold an unborn kid for you. $50 for a wether deposit. Saying you are interested in a kid does not count as a deposit. I reserve the right to retain ANY kid born on this farm, regardless of deposits. All kids are Dam-raised until a minimum of 10 weeks. Most are released to their new homes at about 12 weeks once they are weaned. l that a kid truly needs its mother, and learns a lot about 'how to be a goat' from her. I spend an extreme amount of time with the kids from birth, and they end up very friendly. One kid we sold, (now 8 months old) still climbs up on her owner's lap for snuggles.
I also do not take fur/eye color reservations. I want our goats to be known for their performances in the show ring and in the milk pail, not just for their pretty colors.
Prices
Prices may be subject to change. Once there is a deposit made, the price is locked in. Does and Bucks will be priced the same, as I only sell high-quality bucks for breeding. Any buckling that I do not think is good enough, and would not use, will be wethered. One buck can produce more kids in one season than any doe can in her lifetime. This can make him extremely influential. I read about one farm who bred to a bad buck and they couldn't ever breed the bad traits out.
Bucklings out of first fresheners are always wethers.
All kids need paid for before leaving the farm.
Sometimes a breeding of two gorgeous animals results in a pet-quality animal. If this happens, I will adjust the price, and you can either go through with the purchase, or have me refund your deposit.
Discounts
In order to get more of my animals into performance homes, for 2018 I am offering discounts to Linear Appraisal, DHIA (doesn't matter which registry) and Show herds. Must bring proof of participation to receive discount.
10% off for Linear Appraisal and/or DHIA herds
5% off for Show herds (El Dorado county fair does not count)
You can any number of these, so if you participate in all three, thats 25% off your kids!
Refunds
I only give refunds if the kid of your choice is: not born, is retained, is deemed to be unfit to be a breeding male and is wethered, is pet-quality, or dies, although the chance of the kid dying is slim, death is a part of raising livestock. In any of these cases, you can choose if you want your deposit refunded, to buy a different available kid, or to roll your deposit over to next year.
If you change your mind and back out of the deal, your deposit is not refunded.
Registration and Naming
All doe and buck kids need to be registered before leaving the farm. No exceptions.
I do have a naming policy, but all I ask is for the kid to be named something in his/her dam's theme. Themes are listed below. Please send me the name for the kid a few weeks before the pick-up date so I can get it on its way to be registered. If you need help coming up with a name, feel free to ask, I'm glad to help. I register kids with ADGA, but later you can register them with AGS or NDGA if you like.
CABrandywinfarms Fannys Glenda VEEV 87: Sweet Stuff
Fun Size Farm Oreo: Cookies
Fun Size Farm Bit 'O Honey: Honey

All names on the registration pedigrees will start with our herd name. Fun Size Farm.
Pick-Up
Once your kid is weaned, (10-14 weeks) I will contact you, and we will work out a time for you to pick up your kid. If no arrangement has been made, I will expect you to pick up your kid within 2 weeks of weaning. After that I will need to start charging $2.00 a day board to cover the added feed expense. If your kid is not picked up by 20 weeks (unless previous arrangements have been made), all reservations and any previous payments, including deposits are void, and the kid will be listed for sale.
Will Not's/Must's
Any animal bought here will not be: Sold to live alone, staked or tied out, for meat.
Any animal bought here must be provided with: Good hay, clean water, shelter, protection from predators, a loving home.
First Right Of Refusal
Sometimes unexpected things happen, and you need to re-home your animals. If this happens, contact me first. I will either buy your goat back, or I can help you find a nice home where he/she will be taken care of.
Our Contact form is on our Homepage. If you would like to send us a deposit.
By purchasing a goat from us, you agree to my sales policies.
Sorry about all the policies and terms. Defining them clearly helps protect you and me from misunderstandings.
